An .apkg file is an Anki deck package. It opens in Anki, not in a PDF reader.
Use Anki on a computer, AnkiMobile on iPhone or iPad, or AnkiDroid on Android.
Download a deck above. Import the .apkg file into your Anki app using the guide for your device below.
Choose material you have already learned. Try a small amount, then adjust your new-card limit to a pace you can manage.
Install Anki from the official Anki website. Save the deck file, then open Anki and choose File → Import. Select the .apkg file.
Already have cards? Back up your collection first and review the import options before updating existing notes. Read Anki’s import guide.
Use the official AnkiMobile app, a separate paid app. Open this page in Safari, download the deck, and open the saved .apkg file with AnkiMobile.
From the Files app, use Share and choose AnkiMobile when needed. Inside the Bone Wizardry app, opening this page in Safari is the simplest way to handle the download. Read the AnkiMobile guide.
Install AnkiDroid. Download the .apkg file, then open it with AnkiDroid. You can also choose Import from AnkiDroid’s menu and select the file.
